Linda Rodeck earned her B.A. from McGill University and her Masters Degree from the University of Toronto. In 1991, Linda joined Joyner Fine Art Inc., the Toronto-based auction house. Linda moved to Yorkshire, England in the mid 1990s to work for a large provincial auction house and returned to Joyner’s in 1995 as Vice-President, and subsequently was promoted to Executive Vice President and Senior Appraiser.
In October 2002, Linda was awarded accredited member status by the International Society of Appraisers.
Linda has donated her services appraising at fundraising clinics, for many years acted as guest auctioneer for the Canadian Art Foundation’s Annual Gallery Hop Gala and, until recently, sat on the board of the foundation of a major children’s health care centre and the Programming Committee of the Women’s Art Association of Canada, for which she also acts as co-archivist. She has had numerous public speaking engagements lecturing on the Canadian art market in general and her experiences as an appraiser and auctioneer specifically. Linda is frequently contacted by the media for her comments on the state of the art market and has been quoted extensively in the Globe and Mail, National Post, Toronto Star, The Art Market Report and La Presse.
Until June 2004, Linda was the Managing Director of the Canadian art division of one of Canada’s oldest auction houses. She left this position to found Bridge Fine Art Consulting, specializing in the appraisal, management, acquisition and dispersal of fine art for private, corporate and institutional collections.
