We are currently recruiting for a Finance Manager.
The Finance Manager engages in a range of administrative, management, and professional accounting work in support of the gallery’s operations in accordance with current accounting principles.
Reporting to the Director, Finance and Operations, the Finance Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing the accounting functions to ensure financial data is accurate and timely in the preparation of financial reports and statement for the McMichael Collection and the Foundation.
The Finance Manager insures the accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger and manages the functions of Accounts Receivable, Payable, and Payroll for the McMichael Canadian Art Collection.
The Accounting Manager will provide operational, financial and organizational direction to retail operations within the MCAC in the areas of merchandising, expense and loss control, profit management, budget planning and supervision in order to ensure efficient and economically sound operations.
5 years Accounting management experience, with an understanding of not-for-profit accounting. A professional certification in accountancy, i.e. Certified General Accountant or Certified Management Accountant is required. The successful candidate will have had experience processing Ceridian Insync Payroll, and have a familiarity with any of Sage Accpac, Vista, Smart Vendor computer applications.
In addition to strong analytical and reporting skills, the Finance Manager must have excellent organizational, time management and communication (oral and written) skills with a broad knowledge of computer applications (including advanced Excel).
