McMichael Studio Classes are designed to introduce and foster development of the basic techniques and tools of visual expression and to nurture the unique creativity of each participant.

Public Programs offers studio courses and workshops in a variety of media from drawing and painting to printmaking and photography. All of our instructors are both practicing artists and experienced educators. Courses are open to all levels of students from beginner to advanced, unless otherwise stated.

Working with acrylics and water-mixable oils, students will learn about tools and materials through skill-building exercises, and will gain a solid understanding of colour, brushstrokes, shading, and composition.
