BONE WIND FIRE Film Screening and Talk with Director Jill Sharpe
Sunday, April 28 at 1:30 p.m.
Join us in the gallery’s theatre for BONE WIND FIRE, the award-winning film about the creative process of painters Frida Kahlo, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Emily Carr. The only words spoken are from the painters themselves, and the visuals originate from the artists’ own landscapes. Playful visual effects create an evocative tapestry of a painter’s imagination using language as poetic flourish. “A rich impressionistic essay on nothing less than the artist’s place in the universe,” says Vancouver Sun film critic, Katherine Monk. Filmmaker/painter Jill Sharpe will introduce the film and discuss her own artistic adventure with these inspirational artists.
