Sakka: Observing the Invisible
Sunday, May 12 at 1:30 p.m.
Norman Hallendy returns to the McMichael with a presentation focusing on the spiritual concept of Nuna (the earth in Inuit culture). Illustrated by Hallendy's own spectacular photography of Arctic landscape with its places of power and objects of veneration, the lecture is based on conversations with elders in several Arctic communities and draws on many Inuktitut words and expressions whose intended meanings verbalize spiritual entities.
