The McMichael Canadian Art Collection is recruiting for the renewable termed position of Education from mid August to the end June, excluding board holidays. Hours of work are from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

The Education Assistant is responsible for booking and scheduling school programs and adult group bookings at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection. The assistant also assists the area Manager in daily department operations and tasks.

The Education Assistant organizes gallery visits according to the capacity limits and staffs the weekly tours, programs and studios. The Assistant is the first and last point of contact for the visitors who have booked their group tour. Working in a fast-paced environment, the Education Assistant has daily contact with the public; the position includes movement between outdoors and indoors to meet school groups.

Candidates must have excellent customer service skills – in person and via telephone and email. Organization and forward thinking / scheduling skills are required. A college or university degree is preferred. Knowledge of VISTA software is a strong asset, as is French and/or a second language.
