The McMichael Canadian Art Collection ranks among Canada’s top public galleries in size and significance. The impressive two levels of gallery spaces are surrounded by a network of outdoor trails, outdoor sculpture garden and 100 acres of conservation land with breathtaking views of the Humber Valley. The McMichael’s permanent collection consists of over 6,500 artworks by Tom Thomson, the Group of Seven, their contemporaries, and First Nations, Métis, Inuit and contemporary artists who have contributed to the development of Canadian art.

The gallery welcomes on average more than 110,000 visitors annually. In addition to school groups and the general public, the gallery hosts weddings, corporate, social and fundraising events.

The Event Logistics Coordinator is responsible for liaising with internal and external Event Leads and the McMichael operations staff to ensure the smooth implementation and execution of events within the McMichael Canadian Art Collection.

This is a full-time position, working 35 hours per week, including weekends and some evenings.

The Event Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for all client contracts after they have been signed and confirmed. The Coordinator will meet with and respond to the confirmed-client inquiries and facilitate a successful working relationship between the client, caterer and other vendors for all events. The advance completion of paperwork and internal communication of function details to the appropriate areas is required.

The successful candidate will have 1-3 years experience in event coordination of weddings or corporate meetings. The individual will be extremely personable with excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong organizational and administrative skills. First Aid Certification is an asset. The position will require flexibility in scheduling, based on events that are booked.
