Call for School Program Docents

Do you love art and interacting with like-minded people?

Consider joining our vibrant McMichael Canadian Art Collection Volunteer Docent program as a School Program Docent.

The McMichael Canadian Art Collection is seeking qualified and enthusiastic individuals to join our team of School Program Docents to conduct educational programs and support studio activities for students from JK to grade 12. Delivery of these programs offers an exciting opportunity to view and share information on the Art of Canada, including artworks by Tom Thomson, the Group of Seven, their contemporaries, First Nations, Métis, Inuit and contemporary artists.

School group programs are highly interactive and include hands-on activities.

Previous teaching experience is an asset, but not required. Enthusiasm is required!

School Program Docents are expected to attend group training every third Monday and to provide five hours per week of availability during the school year.

Interested candidates should complete the attached volunteer application form and forward with your resume by May 31st, 2019 to our human resources department.

Interviews will take place on site at the McMichael in June and training will begin in September.
