Celebrate Canada Day at the McMichael! This family day engages the senses through various art workshops related to the exhibitions on view. Take part in the Family Printmaking Challenge happening throughout the day outside of Pine Cottage. Join a family tour animated by a McMichael docent, and watch a performance by the JAZZ.FM91 Youth Big Band.
Performing at the McMichael in celebration of Canada Day for the third time, the JAZZ.FM91 Youth Big Band provides an opportunity for exceptional student musicians to hone their skills and interact in a diverse, professional setting. Over the past 10 years the JAZZ.FM91 Youth Big Band has performed with legendary jazz figures: Randy Brecker, Joey DeFrancesco, Guido Basso, PJ Perry, Tom Scott, Lew Tabackin, and Bucky Pizzarelli, and recently opened for Al Jarreau at the Branford International Jazz Festival.
