According to York Region public health guidelines regarding learning cohorts, the McMichael cannot provide extended care for 2021. We thank you for your understanding.
Each camp class will consist of up to eight campers, one instructor, and one assistant working exclusively with the assigned group. We are closely observing the York Region Public Health guidelines, and will modify our program layout if larger cohorts are allowed. Should we increase the group size, the McMichael will assign an additional volunteer assistant.
We have implemented a number of new procedures to ensure the health and safety of every camper enrolled in the ArtVenture Summer Camp program. Each group will have their own studio space and controlled access to washrooms. Interactions between different groups will be kept to a minimum in order to avoid the mixing of cohorts.
Children will be seated at separate tables. Each child will be provided with a personal art kit which will be stored in the studio and not shared with other students. Our staff have created seating arrangements to allow students to sit at least two metres away from other participants. During the program, art instructors will ensure that all students practice social distancing measures. Students and staff are required to wear face masks at all times in accordance with York Region public health guidelines, and each learning space will be equipped with hand sanitation stations and a sink for thorough hand washing. We kindly request that all parents and guardians review social distancing practices with their child prior to the start of the session.
