Uninvited: Canadian Women Artists in the Modern Moment
Mondays | 12:30 to 1:30 pm
Wednesday | 7 to 8 pm
About the tour
Follow along with a McMichael Docent on a virtual guided tour of Uninvited: Canadian Women Artists in the Modern Moment, a major exhibition of Canadian women artists that coincides with, and offers commentary on, the centenary celebration of the Group of Seven. The exhibition gathers more than 200 pieces of art by a generation of extraordinary women painters, photographers and sculptors from a century ago—pioneers who opened new frontiers for women artists in Canada—as well as works made by their Indigenous female contemporaries working in traditional media, for a cross-country snapshot of female creativity in this dynamic modern moment.
This free interactive experience provides our visitors with the opportunity to examine images of artworks up close while remaining responsibly distanced in their own homes. Each 60-minute virtual tour will be limited to 40 participants per session to allow for questions and discussion, so please register to ensure your spot!
An internet connection, microphone and camera-enabled computer, tablet or smartphone is required. The virtual tour will be delivered via the video conferencing app Zoom. You do not require a Zoom account to participate; the link to access the class will be sent to you in advance.
How to join: Once you have registered for the tour you will be sent an email with all necessary information and details about how to access the class online. If you have any questions please contact our Creative Learning Department.
