      <div class=\"mc-wysiwyg-content\">\n<p><strong>La Collection McMichael d\u2019art canadien comporte plus de 7 000 \u0153uvres : pi\u00e8ces ma\u00eetresses du Groupe des Sept et objets ayant appartenu aux fondateurs de la collection, Robert et Signe McMichael; mat\u00e9riel d\u2019artistes c\u00e9l\u00e8bres ainsi qu\u2019embl\u00e9matiques \u0153uvres sur papier et photographies d\u2019archives; outils de graveur utilis\u00e9s par Franklin Carmichael et bonnet en laine de Frederick Varley. Le tiers de la collection est constitu\u00e9 d\u2019\u0153uvres autochtones : objets culturels anciens et \u0153uvres d\u2019art contemporain toutes r\u00e9centes. Le mandat du McMichael concerne tout l\u2019art du Canada, d\u2019est en ouest, des \u00e9poques lointaines jusqu\u2019aujourd\u2019hui. Le McMichael se veut le reflet de toute sa diversit\u00e9.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cette s\u00e9lection d\u2019\u0153uvres vise \u00e0 t\u00e9moigner de l\u2019ampleur de notre collection permanente. Nous prenons plaisir \u00e0 exposer ensemble des \u0153uvres apparemment disparates afin de les faire converser les unes avec les autres de fa\u00e7on cr\u00e9atrice. Parmi les artistes expos\u00e9es figurent, entre autres : Kenojuak Ashevak, Rebecca Belmore, Edward Burtynsky, Franklin Carmichael, Emily Carr, Kim Dorland, Sorel Etrog, Paterson Ewen, Lawren Harris, Prudence Heward, Gershon Iskowitz, A.Y. Each artist\u2019s voice is theirs alone. I\u2019ve always felt, looking at art on gallery walls, that it\u2019s as if there are countless murmuring conversations going on, just out of earshot, between works and between artists. In the vaults of a great museum like the McMichael, you stumble on these kinds of silent conversations all the time, between disparate artworks sharing the storage racks coincidentally.
