Please join artists Marie-Claire Blais and Jeremy Laing in conversation as they explore the many legacies that infuse their work, from minimalism to Mexican textiles and beyond.\u00a0Jessica Bradley, curator of the Blais exhibition\u00a0on view at McMichael, will also participate in this event, along with the McMichael\u2019s Chief Curator Sarah Milroy.<\/span><\/p>\n

About the Artist<\/span><\/h2>\n

Marie-Claire Blais (b. 1974, L\u00e9vis) is a leading light of contemporary art in Montreal, yet until now her work has not been presented in a major Canadian museum. \u00a0Blais extends the language of abstraction into the contemporary movement, painting on canvas and then cutting, shredding and unraveling the painting surface to produce subtle works that hover between sculpture and painting.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>
