Visions of Turtle Island<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Explore First Nations history and confront stereotypes in this high-energy, multidisciplinary performance showcasing powwow-style singing and dancing. Vision of Turtle Island <\/em>is a multidisciplinary performance blending First Nations singing and dancing traditions with a multimedia presentation. The performance concludes with a traditional hoop dance by Tribal Vision Dance, a First Nations family dance company.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tribal Vision is a First Nations family dance company based on the Six Nations Reserve in Ontario, Canada. The company presents the exciting dance and music of North America\u2019s First People\u2019s through multimedia shows and workshops. Tribal Vision is made up of Champion Dancers and a World Class singing champion. They love sharing their rich culture with people the world over.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

Together! A Global Music Experience<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Created through The Royal Conservatory of Music as a celebration of Canada\u2019s cultural diversity and pluralism, KUN\u00c9\u00a0showcases their traditional knowledge of music from Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and North America. Guests will have the opportunity to see and experience the Sitar, the Oud, the Cajon, the Dizi, the Ngoni and many more. <\/span><\/p>\n

About\u00a0KUN\u00c9 \u2013 Canada\u2019s Global Orchestra<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

KUN\u00c9 (which means \u201ctogether\u201d in Esperanto) \u2013 Canada\u2019s Global Orchestra \u2013 was developed from a major initiative by The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto to explore and celebrate Canada\u2019s cultural diversity and pluralism. The ensemble seeks to communicate in ways that words, politicians, and spiritual leaders cannot, and help to find a common language through music.\u00a0The musicians hail from all corners of the globe\u2014from Peru, Burkina Faso, Cuba, Ukraine, and beyond. The eleven musicians of KUN\u00c9 play a diverse variety of instruments, from the tar of Iran to the bouzouki of Greece to the sitar of Pakistan.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

Journey into the nation\u2019s past across multiple viewpoints in story and song! <\/span><\/p>\n

Mike Ford is a Juno-nominated artist whose concerts and recordings are garnering\u00a0critical and popular acclaim coast-to-coast. Known to many as 1\/4 of the successful folk-pop-vaudeville band Moxy Fr\u00fcvous, Ford has embarked on a new career with his rollicking Canada In Song<\/em> project. He has worked in or visited every region\u00a0of Canada and is dedicated to sharing his enthusiasm for the country\u2019s land\u00a0and history with students of all ages.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>
