Kleinburg, ON, November 9, 2016 – A community citizenship ceremony featuring roundtable discussions between community members and Canada’s newest 50 citizens takes place at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection on Monday, November 14, 2016.
Roundtables–unique to Institute for Canadian Citizenship community citizenship ceremonies–bring citizenship candidates together with members of their communities in welcoming Canadian spaces to share their stories, discuss the value and responsibilities of Canadian citizenship, and celebrate the special day. The participants include citizenship candidates, their family and friends, and roundtable hosts.
The November 14 event is hosted by the ICC, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), and the McMichael Canadian Art Collection.
The McMichael Canadian Art Collection is a national institution celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The McMichael participates in the ICC’s Cultural Access Pass (CAP) program, which provides new Canadian citizens with free admission to more than 1,200 of Canada’s premier cultural attractions and discounts on travel during their first year of citizenship.
