Exhibition of Student Work 2023
This year, the McMichael’s Creative Learning team offered the V.O.I.C.E.S. program to schools in both the York Region District School Board and the Toronto District School Board, bringing this innovative learning experience to a total of 233 students from 13 classes, ranging from Grades 4 – 6. The McMichael’s staff and volunteers created personalized art kits for each student to keep beyond the duration of program.
Over the course of six weeks, students worked with McMichael Educators, Volunteers and professional artists Don Chretien and Mo Thunder from the comfort of their classrooms or at the McMichael. Students were able to explore the art of Canada and participate in activities and workshops that encouraged them to develop their creativity and leadership skills. On the sixth session, the V.O.I.C.E.S. students assisted the McMichael team in leading their peers through a studio program, acting as leaders in their own classrooms.
On behalf of the McMichael community, including the generous donors who made this amazing program possible, we congratulate the participants of the 2023 V.O.I.C.E.S. program! We’re pleased to present the students’ final projects in the virtual exhibitions below:
