Are you a digitally-savvy individual who is plugged in to the latest social media and digital platforms and eager to conceptualize and create engaging content that reaches both current and new audiences for the McMichael? We are looking to take our social media to the next level!

The Social Media and Digital Content Coordinator is a full-time position responsible for the upkeep and outreach of all McMichael social media platforms that build brand awareness and drive attendance. The successful candidate will act as the voice of the McMichael brand on multiple content and social media platforms and be responsible for creating engaging content that appeals to a range of McMichael audiences.

Social media and content creation skills include:

  • Experience using social media analytics tools and the ability to align marketing strategies based on findings.
  • Ability to create cutting-edge social media and digital marketing content and manage all social platforms including, but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, SoundCloud, Google Business and TripAdvisor, by way of posts, tweets, stories, reels and other tools
  • Initiative to develop fresh ideas and gather content from both internal and external stakeholders
  • Initiative to keep on top of digital and social media trends
  • Experience in building a content calendar and creating a social media plan
  • Experience engaging with a social media community, including responding to comments both positive and critical
  • A strong knowledge of WordPress, Adobe Suite, Airtable, Hootsuite and Google Analytics
  • Expertise in using a DSLR camera, microphone and lighting equipment for photography and videography purposes.
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom and Premiere Pro.
  • Excellent writing, filming, photography, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in social media, marketing, communications, advertising, or related area of study.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in marketing communications; specific experience working in digital, including writing for the web and social media platforms and extensive functional knowledge in social media platforms; proven track record building communities through social media.
  • Project coordination background with track record of managing multiple projects within given timelines in a fast-paced changing environment. Ability to establish priorities and to plan and monitor own work plan.
  • Must be energetic, creative, and show initiative.
  • Have experience in the visual arts and/or cultural sector(s).
  • Proven record of working with and representing various facets of an organization.
  • French bilingualism is an asset.

This is currently a remote position with on-site requirements to connect and capture content including the art, installations, events, grounds and various programs, promotions and initiatives offered by the McMichael Canadian Art Collection.
