The McMichael Canadian Art Collection ranks among Canada’s top public galleries in size and significance. The gallery, exhibition, and programming space comprise 25,000 sq.ft., and are surrounded by a network of outdoor trails, outdoor sculpture garden and 100 acres of conservation land with breathtaking views of the Humber Valley. Over 6,500 distinctively Canadian works of art comprise the permanent collection, and the gallery welcomes on average more than 110,000 visitors annually.
The Gallery is recruiting for a Weekend/Evening Facilities Support staff to support the Custodial and event set-up requirements during weekend and holiday periods. Hours of work are primarily weekend days; weekday evening shifts for events; and occasional weekday evenings for events. Weekday hours may be scheduled as required.
Reporting to the Weekend Facility Lead, and working with other Weekend Facilities staff, tasks include cleaning of gallery facilities, responding to work orders and performing required work for special events and functions, such as setting up chairs / tables and responding to function work orders.
The successful candidates must have the ability to lift and push 30+ lb. and be able to regularly work Saturdays, Sundays, and some holiday periods as scheduled. Shifts would rotate between various daytime hours (between 7:00am-5:00pm) and evening shifts (between 3:00pm-2:00am) when events are scheduled. First Aid certification and WHMIS knowledge are assets.
