The McMichael is built upon a legacy of generosity. In 1965, Robert and Signe McMichael gifted their home, land, and art collection to the Province of Ontario. Since then, we have relied on community support to ensure that we continue to offer the very best exhibitions by Canadian and Indigenous artists, enhance a permanent collection that represents Canada now, facilitate unique art-educational programs, and expand outreach initiatives to engage a wider audience.
