The McMichael is temporarily closed for a once-in-a-generation redevelopment until 2029. While in-gallery visits are unavailable during this time, our school programs continue in classrooms across the region and online.

About
our Programs
Designed for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12, McMichael school programs use art to build visual literacy, encourage critical and creative thinking, and inspire curiosity about the world around us.
Grounded in student-centred dialogue and hands-on learning, programs invite students to look closely, ask questions, exchange ideas, and bring their own perspectives to the art they encounter. Through conversation and artmaking, students develop the skills and confidence to express themselves creatively while engaging with diverse artists, ideas, cultures, and perspectives.
Programs connect to learning across the curriculum and are designed to support Ontario Ministry of Education expectations at each grade level.

FAQs
Programs must be booked at least one month in advance. We recommend submitting your inquiry as early as possible to secure your preferred date and time.
After submitting an inquiry, our team will help you select an available date. Once logistics are finalized, we will issue a signed agreement and invoice. Your booking is confirmed upon receipt of the signed agreement.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, direct deposit and cheque (payable to McMichael Canadian Art Collection). Payment is due on the day of your booked program.
Membership discounts do not apply to school programming.
We recognize that each school’s situation is unique. To inquire about financial assistance, please reach out to our team and we will guide you through the application process.
Changes must be communicated via email at least one month in advance. Any adjustments made by this time can be accommodated in full.
Changes made within two weeks of your visit may only be adjusted by up to 10% of your original booking.
Increases in student numbers must also be communicated one month in advance. We are unable to accommodate additional students on the day of your visit.
Cancellations must be communicated via email at least two weeks in advance to avoid penalties. Cancellations received within two weeks of your scheduled visit are subject to a 50% cancellation fee.
Yes, rescheduling is possible with a minimum of two weeks’ notice. Requests made within two weeks of your scheduled visit are subject to a 10% administrative fee based on the total program cost.
