Ages 7 to 12

Welcome to the Club!

The McMichael ArtVenture Club is a series of virtual studio programs facilitated by our professional art instructors. Offered through the ZOOM platform, this friendly art club encourages social interaction, cultivates art appreciation and offers participants a creative way to explore various art techniques, through guided viewing of the McMichael’s extensive collection of Canadian art.

About the Club

Participation and communication are key to a great art class! Your first art club meeting will include a brief tutorial on using ZOOM and the features available to you as a student. Each club session will be structured around live demonstration and instruction, viewing and discussing gallery artwork, virtual assistance and sharing tips while completing a follow-along art project.

Each class includes a supervised break time. Students will be free to socialize with their peers and enjoy themselves!

Fee: $80 General Public, $60 McMichael Members

ArtVenture Club Instructor

Connie Santos

Hi! My name is Connie Santos, and I’m an ArtVenture Senior Instructor. I’m so excited to be an Instructor for the McMichael ArtVenture Club! I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. I am a graduate of Ontario College of Art and Design University and am currently enrolled at York University. For the past six years I have been working at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection as an instructor and on-call educator in various capacities, including during ArtVenture Summer Camps and Saturday Art Classes. My artwork has been shown both locally and internationally.

My goal is to explore and use the McMichael’s extensive art collection and electronic resources to inspire the students to think creatively. By the end of the session, students will have learned new ways of thinking and creating works of art.
