2-day Masterclass

Level: Intermediate/advanced. Previous experience in acrylic painting is recommended for this class.

Program Description

Designed for advanced artists, this course will assist participants in developing a personal voice when painting the land. Through observation and analysis, participants will interpret landscape through relevant principles of design and then reconstruct it in paint using individual styles and techniques. Participants are encouraged to bring research material, sketches, or photographs to be used as a base for the work completed in class.

About the Artist

John Leonard, a Toronto-based painter, is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) and Sir Sandford Fleming College. He has taught extensively at many of Ontario’s universities and art schools, including OCAD University, the University of Toronto, and York University. An internationally exhibiting artist and experienced professional, Leonard places great emphasis on personal style development.

 A half-hour lunch break is included. Please bring your own lunch.
