About the event

To commemorate the centenary of the Group of Seven’s first formal exhibition, which opened in Toronto in the spring of 1920, Executive Director Ian Dejardin has assembled a landmark exhibition that draws deeply on the McMichael’s collection of work by the Group to cast new light on a band of artists who considered themselves united by “a like vision” for Canadian art. This very special curatorial talk will kick off a year of celebrations at the McMichael, and will explore the fascinating history of the Group as well as the stories of lesser-known members — all pioneers of a bold Canadian vision that changed everything.
