Family Storytelling Circles
All Ages
Families are invited to drop in for cozy storytelling circles inspired by the gallery’s current exhibitions throughout winter break. Daily at 11:30 am and 1 pm.
Extend the holiday festivities this year with our Boxing Day storytelling circles!
Storytelling Circles are approximately 45 minutes and depart from the Grand Hall. No registration required. Free with gallery admission.

Impressionist artists were fascinated by the relationship between light and colour; they spent hours observing and recording how colours changed across time and seasons. Through this careful observation and experimentation, the Quebec Impressionists produced beautiful depictions of winter in their home province. Explore snowy Quebec landscapes and learn to spot specific colours hidden under blankets of fluffy white snow.

Chaque jour, à 11 h 30 et 13 h, durant toute la période de relâche, les familles sont invitées à venir écouter, bien au chaud, des contes inspirés par les expositions en cours au Musée.
L’activité, qui dure environ 45 minutes, se déroule à partir du Hall principal. Aucune inscription requise. Gratuit à l’achat d’un billet d’entrée.

L’accent est mis sur les activités et les festivités hivernales dans le village de Péribonka au lac Saint-Jean, comme le décrivent les illustrations réalisées par Clarence Gagnon pour l’édition de 1933 du roman Maria Chapdelaine. Les participant.e.s découvriront la vie des pionniers francophones dans cette froide région nordique.

Les artistes impressionnistes étaient fascinés par le lien entre lumière et couleur. Ils passaient des heures à observer et noter les changements de couleur selon les heures et les saisons. Grâce à cette observation minutieuse, les impressionnistes québécois ont magnifiquement représenté l’hiver dans leur province. Découvrez les paysages enneigés du Québec et apprenez à repérer des couleurs singulières, dissimulées sous la blancheur du manteau neigeux.
