About the event

Celebrate the festive season in French, Canadian, and Maritime style with special exhibitions, art workshops and performances for the whole family as the McMichael transforms into a magical winter wonderland. All holiday programming this year is free with gallery admission.

Itinerary

Holiday Music Performance & Sing-along

2 to 3 pm • Gallery 8
Enjoy this festive musical performance and sing-along by Hugh Barnett and Jessica Doyle with classic holiday songs in both English and French.


Drop-In Art Workshops

11 am to 4 pm • Education Space

Textile Art: Explore texture, shapes and layering to create festive textile works of cut fabric and glue.

Snowy Night Painting: Swirl, mix and sprinkle white paint across a black background to create a snowy night masterpiece.

Accordion Holiday Cards: Cut-out and decorate a fun accordion-style holiday card for friends and family using colour pencil and cardstock.


Family Tours

11:30 am & 1 pm • Meet in the Grand Hall
Take part in an interactive, family-oriented tour of our lower level galleries. Tour will incorporate the use of our special gallery activity cards and are approximately 40 minutes in length.


Self-Guided Gallery Programming

11 am to 4 pm
Pick up an activity card and discover new ways of looking at art while you explore the exhibitions!

Dining

Enjoy a special holiday meal at the McMichael Café. Order a savoury turkey breast sandwich. Then, keep toasty with a mug of hot chocolate and slice of pumpkin pie while taking in the winter wonderland through floor-to-ceiling windows.
