Jen Aitken, Artist’s Workshop
Sunday, September 18
1 – 2 pm
About the Workshop
Toronto-based sculptor Jen Aitken will lead an in-person drawing session exploring the dimensionality of lines and negative space. Aitken worked in the Tom Thomson Shack as part of the RBC Emerging Artist Residency through July 3, 2022. She is widely known for her cast-concrete sculptures, in which stacked and cantilevered architectonic forms seem to morph from different viewpoints. Her three-dimensional wire drawings that suspend from the wall have a delicate presence that emphasizes human touch while her two-dimensional ink drawings portray a shallow pictorial space, marked out by careful outlines of incomplete or impossible sculptures.
Space is limited for this special workshop. All materials are included.
Capacity: 20 students
