National Indigenous Peoples Day: Grass Rocking

THIS IS A FREE COMMUNITY EVENT.

In this special celebration, Quentin “Que Rock” Commanda and DJ Creeaisan a.k.a. Matthew Wood – both who have danced for A Tribe Called Red – will lead a performance that showcases hip hop and powwow dances side- by-side. The true fire keepers of hip hop, who dance to heal and restore, the performers and their  special guest, Soupy, will encourage the audience to participate in this unique experience.

The gallery will be open until 7pm on this special day. iPad workshops will be offered at 5pm, 5:30pm, 6pm, and 6:30pm in the exhibition …Everything Remains Raw: Photographing Toronto’s Hip Hop Scene from Analogue to Digital; the main event will begin at 7pm outside the gallery.
