Step into the world of Inuit art and storytelling at this special Family Sunday inspired by Worlds on Paper: Drawings from Kinngait, an exhibition celebrating the rich tradition of Inuit drawing. This immersive day of storytelling, art-making, and cultural exploration invites visitors of all ages to experience the beauty of the Arctic—right here in Toronto!

Drop-in Art Workshop:
Making Art with Angela
Create your own stretched canvas artwork, inspired by the Inuit tradition of drying sealskin on wooden racks. Led by Angela Aula, a painter and makeup artist born and raised in Iqaluit, Nunavut, this workshop offers a hands-on way to explore Inuit artistic traditions.

Storytelling Circle with Curator Emily
Laurent Henderson
Meet Emily Laurent Henderson, Associate Curator of Indigenous Art & Culture at the McMichael, as she shares her journey curating Worlds on Paper. A Kalaaleq (Greenlandic Inuk) and Settler writer, speaker, and community organizer, Emily will bring the exhibition to life through personal stories and images from her trip to Kinngait.

Northern Lights & Other Inuit Stories:
Storytelling Circle with Maika Harper
Experience the magic of Inuit storytelling with celebrated actress and author Maika Harper. In this interactive session, Maika will share captivating traditional Inuit stories and reflect on her childhood in the Arctic. Best known for her roles in Mohawk Girls, Kim’s Convenience, and North of North, Maika is also the author of The Walrus and the Caribou and the upcoming children’s book First People.
