Family Sundays are back!

Every third Sunday of the month is Family Sunday at the McMichael! Join us all day long for drop-in hands-on art workshops, interactive tours and storytelling circles created just for families. Each Family Sunday has a different theme and a special performance at 2 pm so join for one or try them all!

Celebrate the return of in-person programming with art, music, dance and song! Create your own creative percussion instrument then look for rhythms and sounds in special in-gallery and outdoor tours. Violin sensation Chris McKhool will share a special edition of his signature Fiddlefire performance that will get families singing and dancing along!

Celebrating A New Generation

This First Nations-led special event will celebrate the achievements of young entrepreneurs participating in the Indigenous Youth Opportunities Program (IYOP). Browse the marketplace and take in performances of traditional Eastern and Western First Nation community dance and music, featuring Tribal Vision Dance. This program is offered in partnership with True North Aid Organization.

Sculpture Parade!

Inspired by the whimsical art of Gathie Falk, join us for a day of discovery and anything-goes creativity. Try your hand at papier-mâché and create a sculpture as wild as your imagination to join in a playful art parade through the McMichael’s gardens. Then enjoy a live music performance, and finish you visit with an outdoor tea party!

Tell Me a Story, Draw Me a Book

Cozy up with the literary arts in preparation for the upcoming long winter months. Learn about how illustrators brings stories to life through art, from traditional drawing and paintings to cartooning and comics. Inspired by a lesser-known collection of illustrated stories by beloved artist Emily Carr, the McMichael will offer in-gallery story making sessions and cartooning workshops.
