Program Description
Artist Andrew Sookrah will offer instruction to artists working to refine their technique in the subjects and styles of their choice. He will conduct demonstrations in watercolours, water-mixable oils and acrylics, offering solutions where artists require help. Topics covered include mastering perspective, reflections in water, patterns, texture, skies and clouds, dramatic light, depth and negative space, with special attention given to basic drawing techniques such as composition, colour, texture, and effective brushstrokes.

Level: Open to all skill levels. Our experienced instructor will adapt his teaching style to his students’ experience.

About the Instructor
Andrew Sookrah is a professional artist and an elected member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour, the Society of Canadian Artists, the Ontario Society of Artists, and the Portrait Society of Canada. He recently participated as a contestant in Makeful TV’s original series Landscape Artist of the Year Canada. He uses a combination of painting demonstrations and individual guidance to create a fun, supportive and collaborative atmosphere in the McMichael’s studio.
