Visitors are welcome to document their visit with personal photography or filming; however, posed and staged personal photo shoots are not permitted in the galleries. Permits for commercial and outdoor wedding photography and filming must be obtained in advance, and the process is outlined below.

Media may take photography and videography in certain areas of the gallery with advance permission and with staff accompaniment. All media images must be cleared for use in advance. Please submit a form for all media inquiries.
Commercial Filming Permits
The McMichael Canadian Art Collection is a wonderful location for film, television, documentary, or digital productions, including product and fashion shoots. Please submit a form to inquire about commercial filming permits and availability.
Outdoor Wedding Photography
Photo and video permits for weddings, engagements, and other special events may be obtained for the grounds between 10 am and 4 pm. Please use the form to inquire about pricing and availability. Photography and videography without a permit is not allowed.
We are currently unable to accommodate student films and personal projects.
Live-streaming video applications are not permitted in the gallery spaces.
While at the McMichael, visitors may be photographed by gallery staff photographers or other authorized parties. These images may be used to publicize the gallery and its activities in print, online, and in display materials, and they may also be distributed to the media. Attendance on the gallery premises constitutes implied consent for the use of visitors’ likenesses in the gallery’s promotional materials.
