FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

September 4, 2013, KLEINBURG ON – The McMichael Canadian Art Collection recently announced the launch of a new concert series developed in promotional partnership with JAZZFM.91. Part of the new McMichael Signature Performance Series, the concerts will be held on six consecutive Thursday evenings beginning September 26. The concerts will alternate between jazz, guitar, and classical music performed by established as well as emerging Canadian musicians.

The McMichael will extend its regular hours, allowing attendees to explore the renowned gallery and grounds before enjoying an 8:00 p.m. concert in the stunning performance gallery overlooking the Humber Valley.

Opening night will take place on Thursday, September 26 and will be headlined by Canada’s sweetheart of swing, Alex Pangman and Her Alleycats. The series will continue with performances by some of Canada’s most accomplished musicians and musical protégés, before closing on Halloween night with a concert by guitarist Kevin Laliberté, just days after the release of his new album, One.

The concerts will be hosted by well-known musician, writer, and radio personality, Jaymz Bee. “I’ve always loved the McMichael Gallery for their art,” said Bee. “Now I can say without a doubt that I am also a fan of their taste in music. I look forward to all six shows coming up this fall!”

The McMichael Concert Series was developed to celebrate Canadian musical culture and to share the magical atmosphere of the gallery at night. The series provides a unique cultural experience that combines some of the very best of Canadian music with great Canadian masterworks.

Tickets can be purchased for individual concerts or as part of package of six shows. To order tickets, call 905.893.1121 ext. 2209.
