Student will explore the diverse functions of underpainting, with an emphasis on the use of the technique to extend the value of range in artwork. Renowned artist Margaret Ferraro will demonstrate the underpainting process step-by-step, guiding students through the entire process while incorporating students’ personal choices.
Celebrate St. Patrick Day with Tony McManus , a guitar virtuoso whose work both as a guitarist and as a composer has come to represent Celtic music in the guitar world. McManus tours extensively in Europe, the UK, Australia and North America and is a recipient of several festival awards. Registration required.

Go in-depth into the first solo exhibition of this leading contemporary Quebec artist with Alexandra Beneteau, an artist and senior educator at the McMichael.
Participants begin this workshop by studying application techniques and playing with colour. In studying the work of other pastelists, participants will learn how each method of application can be used effectively and creatively. Student will study colour theory, studying value, and temperature, and how this relates to landscape, still life, and other subjects/modes of expression.
Join McMichael Senior Educator, Lisa Laurin, in an exploration of the multidisciplinary practice of Francoise Sullivan whose major impact on Quebec and Canadian culture is fully recognized in this new exhibition.

These special Accessible Studio Family art workshops for children and youth living with special needs encourage collaborative artmaking that involves the entire family. Based on exploring the McMichael’s collection and spectacular grounds, each session focuses on an art projects planned for various skills and abilities.
