Worlds on Paper: Drawings from Kinngait &
Dreaming Forward: Contemporary Drawings from Kinngait
Join us for a free bilingual professional development event designed for teachers, highlighting two compelling new exhibitions: Worlds on Paper and Dreaming Forward.
Worlds on Paper presents more than 200 drawings from Kinngait (Cape Dorset), created between 1959 and 1990. These works offer vivid visual narratives of cultural continuity, intergenerational storytelling, and everyday life across five transformative decades. Dreaming Forward continues this story, showcasing a new generation of Kinngait artists who are shaping the contemporary art scene with powerful reflections of their community in the 21st century.
The program includes a guided tour led by McMichael educators, followed by a hands-on artmaking activity inspired by the exhibitions. Wrap up your visit with time to enjoy lunch and explore the gallery at your own pace.
